The Medical Shadowing Internship course will now also be offered on the Jupiter campus starting this fall, with plans to continue offering the course each semester. The internship provides students the opportunity to work with area physicians in an area of future interest and gain clinical experience. The shadowing experience helps students build relationships with the health professionals in the community, from local clinics, hospitals, specialists in private practice, and so on. The Pre-Health Office has a number of physicians that the team has established formal affiliation agreements with, such as general practitioners, OB/GYNs, cardiology clinics, animal hospitals, and so on.The one credit course allows for up to 36 hours of shadowing, and the course can be taken four times so students can achieve 100 or more hours of experience.

The internship course is currently provided virtually, with the clinical skills taking place in-person. For students interested in this course, the Pre-Health Professions Office can help guide individuals through the process.
