Communication and Computation Skill Requirements at FAU (Gordon Rule)

This rule requires students to successfully complete, with grades of “C” or higher, 12 credits of writing (6 credits of English and 2 additional courses) and 6 credits of mathematics. Students transferring from out-of-state institutions, who think they may have completed Gordon Rule equivalent courses with grades of “C” or better, must obtain a letter from the previous institution that demonstrates they have fulfilled the writing criteria. Such letters should be mailed directly to the Office of the Registrar at FAU.
