The purpose of this major/certificate is to provide students with the pre-requisite courses needed to enter a Health Professions Graduate Program (medical, dental, pharmacy, veterinary, etc) and to assist in preparing them for their admissions exam (MCAT, DAT, PCAT, etc). ALL ACADEMIC ADVISING for this major will take place the Student Services Office for the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science (SE 234)
Undergraduate students MUST choose a degree program (other than the Pre-professional Studies Major) by 60 credits . Check out DEGREE PROGRAM OPTIONS for a few ideas! Students must apply for the Pre-Professional Studies Certificate upon applying for graduation (SE 234). The requirements to earn the certificate are as follows:
- Completion of all classes required for the certificate (See Program Sheets)
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA
- Complete a minimum of 100 hours of volunteer work
- Complete 50% of the courses required for the certificate at FAU
Undergraduate students that have already COMPLETED A BACHELORS DEGREE do not have to declare any major other than this one and will earn the Pre-Professional Studies Certificate upon successful completion of the Program.
