"Boca 5" is a cluster computer for the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science. Boca 5 runs Red Hat Linux and consists of 64 Dell 1850 servers.
Each 1850 has two dual-core processors running at 2.8GHz. This gives Boca 5 roughly the equivalent processing power of a cluster that uses 256
single-core processors. The backbone of Boca 5 consists of two gigabit Ethernet switches, and its storage array is connected through fiber optic
cables for optimum transfer rates.
