What began as an educational, research and outreach partnership nearly two years ago has now further solidified as Florida Atlantic University and Max Planck Florida Institute introduce the establishment of their new joint FAU/MPFI Integrative Biology and Neuroscience graduate program. The graduate program will begin recruiting students this year for the Fall 2011 class. Combining the intellectual capacity and resources of these two as well as local institutions will continue to develop this region as a nucleus for neuroscience research and education. The first step in this road map to creating this new center of excellence in neuroscience will be to attract top-notch graduate students locally, nationally, and internationally to FAU and MPFI.
The FAU/MPFI Neuroscience Symposium will feature neuroscience experts from Florida Atlantic University, Max Planck Florida Institute, The Max Planck Society, as well as speakers from local research institutes and other universities located throughout the United States. The symposium will highlight challenges, latest findings and advances to address some of the most complex issues at the forefront of today's neuroscience research. Students and faculty from FAU and other educational institutions as well as scientists from Max Planck Society and other research institutes are invited to participate in this two-day symposium.
