Is a Graduate Degree in Mathematics for Me?

Mathematics is the study of quantity, structure, space, and change. It is a peculiarly human endeavor that attempts to organize our experience in a quantitative fashion. Mathematics aids and supplements our intuitions about the physical universe and about human behavior. As such, it has been tremendously successful: Nobel Laureate Eugene Wigner referred to "the unreasonable effectiveness of mathematics" in its ability to model our world.

Careers in Mathematical Sciences

Computer programming, financial analysis, statistics, actuarial science, commercial or government cryptography, college or junior college teaching, construction of mathematical models for problems in engineering and the sciences.
