FACULTY POSITIONS: 980970 INORGANIC CHEMISTRY AND 991030 BIOCHEMISTRY - FLORIDA ATLANTIC UNIVERSITY, BOCA RATON, FL
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science at FAU located in Boca Raton, Florida, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in inorganic chemistry, and for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in biochemistry starting in the fall of 2010. The applicants should have demonstrated excellence in the field as evidenced by publications and be able to mount an internationally visible research program at FAU. For the inorganic position, preference will be given to candidates with inorganic research interests relevant to biochemistry, biology, and biomedical science. For the biochemistry position, preference will be given to candidates with biochemistry research interests relevant to biotechnology, bioorganic, protein chemistry, carbohydrate chemistry, drug and experimental design. The applicants will be expected to help forge ties with the growing biotech industry across the region. Record of external funding and currently active grants will be an advantage for the applicants to the Assistant Professor position and will be required for the Associate Professor position. The applicants would be expected to participate actively in the doctoral program and contribute to the teaching needs of the Department (especially inorganic chemistry/biochemistry courses respectively).
