Integrative Biology PhD Program
Integrative Biology is a multidisciplinary doctoral program of the Department of Biological Sciences of the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science with the participation of other departments and colleges at Florida Atlantic University.The program admitted its first students in Fall 2003. Integrative Biology refers to cross-disciplinary, multilevel approaches to education and research in biology and other science areas. Achieving an understanding of biological phenomena through scientific inquiry is becoming increasingly cross-disciplinary. The program takes advantage of current faculty strengths in biological sub-disciplines such as ecology & environmental sciences, marine biology, neuroscience as well as molecular, cellular and developmental biology to provide academic leadership and mentor graduate students. The course of study for individual students will be built around core courses in Integrative Biology, Scientific Communication, and Statistics.
