Research interests
I am a community ecologist studying freshwater ecosystems.  My research emphasis is largely empirical, involving observational and experimental approaches in the field and lab.  Currently I’m working on the contributions of hydrologic variation, predation, and competition on populations and communities in wetlands.  At finer scales my research involves aspects of animal behavior and life history variation.  At broader scales these studies can address questions of food web spatial variation and the controls on secondary production (animal biomass).  Many of the research hypotheses and questions I am working on provide a basic understanding of Everglades’ communities and the responses of populations to restoration efforts.
