Faculty

The success of the FAU’s Environmental Sciences Program depends on its diverse and talented faculty.  They are the mentors, advisors, and research colleagues that give the program its academic reputation and desirability for prospective students.   Collectively, faculty in the Environmental Sciences Program have appointments in all departments in the Charles E. Schmidt College of Sciences as well as departments in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters, College of Architecture, Urban & Public Affairs, Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College, and the Barry Kaye College of Business.

Committees

The Environmental Sciences Program operates under the guidance of an Admissions Committee, a Program Committee, and a Curriculum subcommittee.  The Admissions Committee is responsible for admitting students to the Program and assigning Teaching Assistantships.  The Program Committee oversees all aspects of the program except admissions, and the Curriculum Subcommittee reviews the curriculum and recommends any necessary changes to the Program Committee.

Staff

The Director is responsible for day to day operation of the program including advising students on academic and career decisions, signing theses, creating material for the web site, building partnerships both inside and outside of FAU, and fostering a growing research initiative.  The Program Assistant is a well known figure because she handles most initial inquiries, maintains the Program records, and is the key point of contact between students and the faculty and administrators.
