OUR MISSION

The mission of the FAU Terrestrial Ecology lab is to investigate the various ecosystems within South Florida.  There are an endless amount of questions that need to be addressed. We plan to continue and expand existing projects, as well as, explore other horizons to better understand the environment and promote the importance of conserving the biodiversity of the natural world.

We conduct insect-plant interaction, insect ecology, and multiple gopher tortoise and plant ecology studies, as well as, collaborate with the Avian Ecology and Plant Ecology Lab.  We encourage research and environmental education in the FAU

Preserve; however, we often expand our work to other sites. Our ultimate goal is to expand ecological research opportunities to incorporate more undergraduate students through the use of SEEDS (Strategies for Ecology Education, Diversity, and Sustainability).
